Why I Created the S.O.U.L. Reflective Journal and Workbook
I happen to meet a lot of women because of the work I do, and because of that, I have heard a lot of their stories.
Some are simply seeking a safe space to unwind—even when they do not realize that is what they are looking for.
In the brief moments I have with them, they will pour out their stories. They tell me about the pain they have carried, the responsibilities they are tasked with, the relationships that have wounded them, and the emotions they have never had the time or space to process.
Many of these women are strong, capable, and accomplished. They care for their families, show up at work, and care for others. They fulfill their responsibilities and continue moving forward.
But beneath that strength, I often hear the unspoken words.
- I hear exhaustion.
- I hear unprocessed hurt.
- I hear women who have become so accustomed to surviving that they no longer recognize how much they are carrying—or how to care for themselves.
And the reality is that, in many of their stories, I could recognize parts of my own.
The Problem That I Have Noticed Is—
Many women know how to keep going, but they do not always know how to stop.
They have learned how to function through pain, silence their emotions, and carry responsibilities that may not belong to them. They spend so much of their lives caring for others that they rarely pause to ask:
- What is happening within me?
- What have I been carrying?
- What has this experience done to my soul?
- And who did God create me to be beneath all these roles and responsibilities?
We become so used to being strong that we sometimes fail to notice when our strength has turned into survival.
What I Wished for Women
I wished there were a space where women could slow down without feeling guilty.
A space where they could acknowledge their emotions without judgment, examine their experiences honestly, and bring every part of themselves into the presence of God.
I wanted women to have more than empty journal pages. I wanted them to have gentle guidance—something that would help them name what they were feeling, recognize what they were carrying, and listen for what God might be revealing.
I wanted them to have a safe place to return to themselves in God.
What Changed My Perspective
Through my own journey and through the stories women entrusted to me, I began to understand that healing requires more than continuing to function.
There are things we have accepted that God never asked us to accept. There are burdens we have carried that He is asking us to release. And there are parts of ourselves that we have neglected while taking care of everyone else.
I have always known that women are powerful. We were created by God with purpose, influence, wisdom, and a unique place in this world. But I began to see more clearly that when a woman does not understand who she is, her strength can be used simply to survive rather than to live fully in her God-given purpose.
When a woman heals, recognizes her worth, establishes healthy boundaries, and lives from her God-given identity, that transformation does not stop with her. It touches her children, her relationships, her family, her community, and the generations that follow her.
Women are not responsible for repairing every issue in our families or society. We all hold a part of the solution, but women are a vital piece, and our spiritual, emotional, and relational well-being matters.
Why I Turned This Realization into a Journal and Workbook
I created the S.O.U.L. Reflective Journal and Workbook because women needed more than encouragement to “be strong.”
We needed a process that would help us understand what strength truly means.
The S.O.U.L. Pathway—Strength, Openness, Understanding, and Light—was created to guide women through that process:
Strength to recognize what they have survived and what has sustained them.
Openness to become honest about their emotions, experiences, and needs.
Understanding to recognize patterns, gain clarity, and see themselves through God’s truth.
Light to release what no longer belongs to them and move forward with greater peace, purpose, and wholeness.
The Journal creates room for personal reflection, while the Workbook provides a more guided process for going deeper. Together, they help women move beyond simply reading inspiring words and begin doing the spiritual and emotional work those words invite.
Who I Created It For
I created this for the woman who has been strong for everyone else but has not made space for herself.
- For the woman who keeps going while quietly hurting.
- For the woman who knows something within her needs attention but does not know where to begin.
- For the woman who feels disconnected from her emotions, her identity, her purpose, or even her relationship with God.
- For the woman who is ready to examine what she has been carrying, release what no longer belongs to her, and rediscover who God created her to be.
What I Hope She Experiences
My prayer is that every woman who opens these pages feels safe enough to be honest.
- I hope she feels seen—not only by the words on the page, but by God.
- I hope she learns to acknowledge her emotions without being controlled by them.
- I hope she recognizes the difference between genuine strength and constant survival.
- I hope she finds the courage to release misplaced responsibilities, establish healthy boundaries, and stop accepting what God never intended for her.
Most of all,
- I hope she remembers that she is more than the roles she performs, the people she cares for, and the painful experiences she has survived.
This journal did not begin when I sat down to write it. It began years ago as something God placed deeply within my heart—a burden for women and a desire to create the kind of space I had seen them searching for again and again.
The S.O.U.L. Reflective Journal and Workbook are my invitation to you:
- Stop.
- Become still.
- Acknowledge what you feel.
- Examine what you have been carrying.
- Release what no longer belongs to you.
And return to the truth of who God created you to be.
Your soul has been speaking.
Perhaps it is time to become still enough to listen—and to trust the One who gave your soul its wisdom.
A safe, sacred space to pause, reflect, and make room for God.
